Main Round Results
Families who completed a Main Round application between November 7, 2022 and January 20, 2023 received Main Round results via email in March 2023.
The Parent Portal is now permanently offline while we update to a new enrollment management system.
Complete this form to request an e-mail copy of your child's placement for next year.
You will need:
- Student's date of birth
- Parent/guardian's email address tied to the student's NOLA-PS record
If you need help, please submit a ticket at the
Help Desk.
Families may need to take next steps to secure seats for next year.
- The deadline for students who were matched to a new school during Main Round to complete registration was May 19. If a student did not complete registration by the deadline, they may have lost their seat. Families will be notified by email if they missed the registration deadline and the student lost their assigned seat for next year. Once a student is dropped for the 2023-2024, the seat cannot be reclaimed. If your student no longer has a school assignment for next year, you should participate in Open Enrollment, starting on June 28, 2023 at 8:00 am. If you would like to check your child’s placement for the 2023-2024 school year, you can do so at nola.ps/placement. If you have other questions about assignment or placement, submit a help desk ticket.
- Students who were assigned to continue at their current school should follow up with their school to determine what information or documents are needed to confirm their place for next year. Schools are required to verify residency annually, and many schools do this as a part of spring re-registration.
- Students who were not assigned to a school for next year should participate in Open Enrollment this summer. Check back for more information on the Open Enrollment page in late June 2023.

Students may also have been placed on a waitlist. Only three NOLA-PS schools have a waitlist: Audubon Uptown, Lake Forest, and Willow. Students who met the eligibility criteria for one or more of those schools may have been placed on the waitlist if there were more applicants than available seats. Email notifications to families will include the schools (if any) where your child was placed on a waitlist.
Let us know how we can help! If you have questions about your student's placement, next steps, or accessing information, please reach out to the NOLA-PS enrollment team. Connect with us by submitting a Help Desk ticket, calling 504-547-6652, or visiting one of our Family Resource Centers.
Matched Students
School Assignment: Students who received a school assignment for next year may have been matched to a new school or assigned to continue at their current NOLA-PS school. Students are assigned to continue at their current school if there are not enough available seats at the schools that the student ranked higher than their current school.
If your family is unhappy with your student's Main Round placement school, you can participate in Open Enrollment this summer. There is no Round 2 this year. Open Enrollment is the next opportunity for families to choose a school for next year. During Open Enrollment, students can choose from schools with available seats at their grade level. More information about Open Enrollment will be available on the
Open Enrollment page in June 2023.
Unmatched Students
Reason for No Match: A student will not receive a match if all of the schools on the student's application had more applicants than available seats. Students who did not complete an application during Main Round will not receive a match. If you did not receive a match in the Main Round and your student cannot continue at their current school for next year, you will need to participate in Open Enrollment to receive a placement for the 2023-2024 school year. More information about Open Enrollment will be available on the
Open Enrollment page in June 2023.
Waitlist Information: It's possible for a student to not recieve a school assignment for next year and to be on a waitlist. Eligible Main Round appplicants to Audubon Uptown, Lake Forest, or the Willow School who did not receive a seat were added to the waitlist. See the waitlist section for more information.
Waitlisted Students
Waitlist Information: Only three NOLA-PS K-12 schools have waitlists: Audubon Uptown, Lake Forest, and Willow. Eligible Main Round appplicants to those three schools who did not receive a seat were added to the waitlist. If your child was placed on a waitlist, that information will be included in the notification email you received from NOLA-PS. If you are unsure if your child is on a waitlist, submit a
Help Desk ticket.
A student can have a school placement for next year (or not have a school placement for next year) and be on one or more waitlists. Accepting a Main Round placement at a school or participating in Open Enrollment will not change your student's position on the waitlist. The only way a student is removed from the waitlist is if the parent/guardian asks for the child to be removed, or if a waitlist offer is made and then expires. If you would like to remove your student from the waitlist, please submit a ticket to the
Help Desk.
Please note that waitlist offers are not guaranteed; it is likely that not every student on the waitlist will receive an offer. If your child does not have a school assignment for next year, you should plan to participate in Open Enrollment to choose a seat for next year.
Waitlist Offers: Starting in June, the student's parent/guardian will receive an email and phone call if a student receives a waitlist offer. Families must respond to waitlist offers within 24 hours. The waitlists at Lake Forest and the Willow School expire on September 1, 2023. The waitlist at Audubon Uptown expires on October 1, 2023.
Choosing a Different School
Open Enrollment: If your student would like to choose a different school for next year, they can participate in Open Enrollment this summer. More information will be available on the
Open Enrollment page in late June 2023.
Schools with Eligibility Criteria: If your student is interested in enrolling at a school with eligibility criteria, please follow up with the school to express your family's interest, schedule testing, and/or complete next steps to determine eligibility. Learn more on the
Open Enrollment page. See school-specific information about completing eligibility steps during April and May 2023 on the
Spring Eligibility Window - School Information Sheet.
